Hey everyone, it has been a couple of years since I was in the installing game, now i'm stationed overseas and am in the market for a new remote start. I am looking at a DEI system with the responder feature and DEI's website is totally lacking and no local retailers for info so my question is this; What is the difference if any between the Viper 790XV, Python 880XP, and the Clifford Matrix RS 3? Thanks for your help.

They are all the same. They market them under seperate names so that all the stores don't have the same one.

I think the two-way communication thing is stupid. I dont know about all of them but the Matrix RSIII only comes with one remote and its pretty dumb lookin'

I was wondering the same thing. I've always heard "viper is the best"....bla bla, but they're all made by DEI, right? I guess they are the same thing, just different names.

If you look at the Directed.com website, youll see the different companies that DEI has acquired or bought. Not all the alarms under the DEI umbrella are the same. They have different technologies. Clifford for example is different to DEI - ask the installers when trying to mix-match alarms and window modules. They dont play well together. ------------- 02 Odyssey / 99 F4
