My neighbor has a 98 expedition that had a auto command remote starter in it that died.I told him to buy another DEI remote starter and i would swap it out for him.He bought a Ready Remote model 24926.I just transfered the wiring from the old unit to the new one,and the vehicle will crank but it won't start.Any suggestions

That's just it,the systems are both made by DEI and the previous model didn't need a bypass, and didn't use a tach signal,it used the voltage sensor.

I'm just going to program the tach wire because the voltage sensor is telling me that the voltage drops to low when the vehicle tries to crank.

The most reliable way to install a starter is by using a tachometer monitoring connection. I would recommend hooking it up. With that said, voltage sensing should work fine. DEI systems do not like a battery that is weak, I would suggest having the battery load tested.

Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
