Talk about stuck....

I cannot the instructions for my Impulse RES-R remote.  I found a wiring diagram, and have the unit installed.  But I cannot program the remotes without the rest of the manual.

Does anyone have the manual, or can someone tell me how to program the remotes and set some of the features? (or reset the dang system due to me fooling around trying to outsmart the thing.)

  • Turn IGN to ON position
  • Press & hold VALET button until the siren/Horn / light flashes
  • Press button # 1 of the remote FOB- the system will flash or honk horn to indicate learned remote
  • When done turn key to off

I know on models that are just like the RES-R you need to turn the Ignition on/off  on/off  on then hold the program switch until the parking lights flash a few times quickly, then press the first button on the transmitters.  I do not remember if the RES-r programs exactly the same, but they are virtually the same as these.  As far as options goes, there are not many, but I can look them up for you sunday night if no one else can help you before.  I am not near my manuals this weekend.

Thanks for the fast reply,

The only problem is that I tried that, and now may have set the stupid thing in some kind of alternate mode.  The remote tries to start the car, but fails to engage... the flashing light won't (it stays solid now, even when the doors are locked.)

I appreciate the help, I hope this works.  If anyone comes across the manual, let me know.  Thanks.

what kind of car?  The solid LED should mean it is in valet mode, but that shouldn't allow the car to try to start.  To enter and to get out of valet mode you should only have to turn the ignition to on and hold the program switch until the LED goes on(enter) or off(exit).

Ok so I have the manual now and there are only four options for programming.  To enter programming mode: turn the key on/off 3 times and then press the program switch 5 times.  The lights should flash five times to confirm.  Now you can press the program switch between 1 and 4 times to select the feature you want to program.  Press 1 time to select Ign2 or Acc2:  then press button 1 on the transmitter for Ign1 or button 2 for Acc2.

Press the program switch 2 times to select runtime: then button 1 for 12 minutes, and button 2 for 24 minutes.

Press the program switch 3 times to select  door lock pulse length: then button 1 for .75 dseconds, or  button 2 for 3 seconds.

Press the program switch 4 times to select number of pulses for the unlock wire. then button 1 for single pulse or button 2 for double pulse.

You can only program one feature at a time, so you will have to enter programming mode for each feature.
