This is only partially correct; the coupe version is different from the convertible.  There is no ignition switch harness anymore on the 07 coupes; instead there is a gray ribbon cable which leads up to the CAS module under the top dash flap from the key slot .  From there you may trace a thick gauge white wire down to the DS kick panel to a plug near the OBD connector.  That is your starter wire.

Ignition is a 14 gauge RED / Blk wire with yellow dots in a blue 10 pin plug in the passenger kick panel fuse box. Pin 2

Constant is a RED / White 12 gauge also at the top of the passenger fuse box in a Violet Plug, 2 pin.

Lock/Unlock:

Lock is a thin gauge Dark Blue/Violet in Driver door boot/kick space

Unlock is a thin gauge WHITE/ Blk in same location, but you still need to diode isolate these because a double pulse will lock the doors after unlocking....

I have a few questions along these same lines...I have a 2007 mini convertible on order and want to have an aftermarket alarm installed when I get the car. Does the remote start feature of an alarm have to be connected in order for a security system to function properly? Several 2 way alarms I have liked have remote start built in yet I do not want it (manual transmission). Also, where would I find the Tach wire and VSS wire on the 2007 mini convertible? Any help would be much appreciated. Also, any recommendations for an installer in the Studio City-Burbank area and/or San Bernardino area? Thanks
