I haven't personally had to deal with one, but just from reading other peoples threads it seems like every one just has one problem after another with these Impulse 990's. Sounds like a junky unit, (no offense, anyone). Is there anyone out there happy with theirs? Is somebody getting rich selling junk starters?

My understanding of these units is that they are manufactured by a single large company and they sell the same system to smaller distributors that want their name on these units. Much like the Vampire, Commando and Crimestopper alarm/remote starter combo's. So there may be more of the units under a different name out on the market, but they are all manufactured by the same company.

I'm considering an impulse myself. And just like others I've been checking up on them as well. Before I entered this forum I've heard only great things about them.........no problems. But here, they don't seem to popular. Go figure!
