I am installing a Crimestopper 2012 on a 2007 Chevrolet Express van. I am completely confused about which interface i can/should use. As best as i can tell The Crimestopper GM-U7, DEI 457GW, and Fortin GM-SL2 all look like they would do the job and have the same functions. Is this correct? Is one better than the others? Any info is appreciated

I dont know about the other two but the 457g works nice. The only downside is that it can lose programming if the battery is ever disconnected. I normally use the 555l or the 556l on this vehicle since the data modules wont work the doorlocks anyway on that van.

Also the 1700g is the updated version of the 457g and it does not lose programming if the battery is disconnected. However it will only bypass the passlock system on that van. Overall though that van is pretty easy to do.

The GM-SL2 will give you everything required for remote start, security interface as well as Passock bypass. This is the module that I suugest for ease of installation as well as integration into the vehicle.
