I'm having problems getting the bypass kit DEI 555CW to work. I've done several remote starts but this is the first with this type of bypass. Basically i'm thinking the programming of the bypass went fine since the security light flashed as it should have and i'm thinking i need to have the key sense activated. The instucting did not mention this but it seems logical. The truck starts fine with the key in the ignition and i used two keys as instucted by the kit. The instuctions were however unclear which wire to connect to the blue (-) wire to. The first page said to use the (-) output when remote start is activated while on the next page it said to used the wait to start wire, used all three (-) when activated, (-) glow plug and (+) glow plug with the same results and i jumped ground to it while progrmming as instructed. So what i'd like to know is whether i have to activate the key sense (make the truck think the key is in the IGN) and some clear instructions on how to program the bypass properly.

The blue wire would go to what DEI lists as the status output wire, a wire that goes to ground when the RS is activated.

The 555C is just the Sentry chip and a relay and programs just like you were adding a third key to the vehicle. Grounding the wait to start input to the RS allows the ignition in the vehicle to power on without the vehicle starter activating, allowing the vehicle to accept the 555C.

No keysense needed in that truck.
