I just installed a 530t window control mod in my car... I had originally bought it when I bought my new alarm (563t), about 6 months ago, but I did not install it right away because I was procrastinating on having to run a bunch of wires through my door's boot. Anyhow, I finally got around to doing it yesterday, and realized that I only ran one Aux Ch for the unit, instead of 2.

Basically it's telling me to connect the roll down wire (RED / white) to an Aux CH, which I connected last night (to the RED / white wire - channel 2)... and works fine. But I failed to run the "ground when armed" wire along side my Aux so that the windows close when my alarm is armed.

So now going through my install guide (to find the wire that I need for the 530t), I came across this menu setting:

1-14 COMFORT CLOSURE ON, OFF: The system can be programmed to close the windows when the system is armed. A 20-second output starts 200mS after the last lock pulse. The Comfort Closure output will be canceled if the unlock button is pressed. If programmed ON, the lock output wire provides this function.

Although here is my designated wire for the window roll up feature.

H1/12 ORANGE (-) ground-when-armed output (GWA)
This wire supplies a (-)500 mA ground as long as the system is armed. This output ceases as soon as the system
is disarmed. The orange wire may be wired to an optional Directed Electronics 8618 starter kill relay.

Now, have you guys ever used either one of these methods for the window mod? Which would be the most ideal to use? Running the Comfort Closure one would be easier, but I can just as easily get to my brain to get the GWA

Thanks in advance!

The comfort closure feature is merely a longer lock 'pulse'. Some vehicles (Volkswagen is an example) will roll up the vehicle's windows if you hold the key in the driver's door to the lock position. If you were installing that system in a vehicle that was equipped with this then you would turn that feature on, and when you lock/arm the system it would continue to hold the lock output and the vehicle would in turn roll up the windows. For your setup I would just use that ground when armed output.

So after installing my 530T this past weekend, I'm pleased with the operation of the system... somewhat. I'm happy with the one touch feature on both of my windows, I'm happy I can crack open, and fully open my windows via remote... but what bugs me is the roll up feature. The windows will automatically roll up (if they are down) when I remote start (also when I arm the system, but not biggie there). The easy fix to that is just to roll them down again, BUT once they have been rolled down with the car remote started, they will not roll up again. I guess it's just a small iritation I'd rather not have... what if it starts raining one day, and I leave the car running while I make a quick 5 minute run somewhere, I'll be SOL (lol yes I should've probably check the weather daily)

I currenty have the 530T to roll down the windows with CH2 on my Hornet 563T, and the roll up to the GWA (ground when armed), all per the install guide that came with the 530T.

Now since I don't plan on adding anything else to my alarm system, I have 2 spare channels (ch 4 & ch 5). I was thinking that maybe I can make those work alongside with the existing channels that are connected to 530T. I have several 451M's at home from when I've done alarm installs in friends cars... but no standard relays. Although I can't think of any issues with using the 451M, It's basically two small relays. Can you guys think of any issues that I'm over looking?

here's my plan....

What do you guys think?
