I want to throw a remote starter in my vehicle. I have a cheapie Bulldog remote starter laying around that a friend gave me a year ago, I'd like to throw that in.
But it says the range is only 400 feet, I'd like to have at least 1000, and 1/2 mile would be better. So in a year I may like to upgrade to a new unit, and I was just wondering if I could drop in another Bulldog. Do they mostly use the same harness? I'm thinking of upgrading to the 200 Deluxe at some point, it says the range is 1/2 mile.
-thanks

Bulldog is out of business. You might want to go with a system from a different company.

Yea, I came across that yesterday. Don't you think someone will buy that stuff and continue making them? Bulldog starters are everywhere - Walmart, Target, ebay. I'm guessing more remote starters are sold to shops than to the do it yourselfer. And I don't know of any shop that installs bulldog.
I don't have any extra money right now (This toyota avalon has turned out to be a money pit), so I thought I'd throw in this one I had sitting on the shelf. I'll probably just do that and not worry about upgrading....

The short answer is no, One way and two units are totally different animals.
