I've searched the forums and have found a few older posts regarding weather or not the Brown Accy 2 wire needs to be hooked up.
I just want to get a better idea as to weather it has been determined that it is needed or not.
Also, can the Tach signal be picked up anywhere inside the vehicle at the BCM?
Thanks

i have never hooked up brown accessory wire, it powers the radio and window circuit, but if your starter has an extra acc. output, theres no harm in using it on the brown( unless you left the radio jammimg when you parked truck, then it will be blaring when you remote start it! LOL)
tach wire is white wire in connector behind dash cluster ( only white wire)

Almost all of the GM trucks I have done did not need the brown powered. I did do a Yukon that the tire pressure indicator came on if the brown was not powered so I powered it.
The tachometer is available behind the instrument cluster, but in that truck I do not normally do a tachometer connection. The truck has it's own over crank and anti grind protection built in. I normally just set DEI units I install to voltage sensing low and turn the crank time up to 2 seconds.

wipers left on with a freezing rain is the reason I don't power the brown wire- who cares about the radio jamming-- the wiper blades are more important.....
