Hi everyone.
I'm new here.. and I have a question that I cannot seem to find the answer I need. I have a viper 791xv alarm installed in my car. It did not have factory power door locks, so I have the basic 2 wire actuators in both my driver's side door and passenger's side door (it's only a 2 door). Now, though I can simply reach across and unlock the passenger's side door by hand via the sliders, I would like to install a 5 wire actuator, that will automatically unlock the passenger's side door when I manually unlock the driver's side. The trouble is, I dont' understand how the 5 wire universal actuators work. I know there are 5 wires.. my current actuators have only 2 (blue and green). My alarm also only has 2 wires for the door lock/unlock.. blue green, which feed a set of relays that feed the actuators. Both actuators are tied into the same circuit for the viper to control both doors. How would I wire in a 5 wire actuator in my driver's side door to work with my 791xv alarm?
Thanks,
Jared
I'm confused....you already have actuators in the car? So they work with the alarm, but you want to be able to make the manual lever to operate both doors? If so, why not just get a basic door lock switch that will lock and unlock the doors?

Your 2 wire actuators cannot be used for this set up. You would need to get a different actuator for the drivers side door that will send out a pulse when pushed down or pulled up. Once you have that then we can go through wiring.

Yes I am going to use it with my alarm, so that when manually lock it, it locks the other door. Yes I already have an actuator in mind.. this one: https://cgi.ebay.com/dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330103757377&rd=1&rd=1
I know it's a cheap knock off, but I will try it first and perhaps get the DEI version later. I plan to replace my 2 wire actuator in the driver's side with this one, and keep my other 2 wire one set up as it is in the passenger's side. All I am confused about is the actual wiring.. Does the viper send ground signals to both wires (blue, green) when not active? I'm confused about that as well... as for my lock/unlock relays, I am using standard bosch SPDT relays in sequence as DEI recommends. The driver's side and passenger's side actuator are tied together and linked to the pair of relays which are linked to the brain.
Thanks!
Jared
