Guy came into my shop today with a 2005 trailblazer that had a 791 with the 457G installed at another shop. Said it wasn't working properly so I took a look. Turns out it was in valet mode so I took it out. Started going over the features with him and then noticed that the car will not start with the remote, only cranks. Tried to start it with the key, same result. The factory security light is flashing when you try to start it. Everything with the bypass seems to be hooked up correctly and he did drive the car to me. I did put it back in valet mode but that made no difference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

unplug the 457g module and reprogramm. Also make sure all the wires in the 457G r hook up properlly, including the status out put for the remote starter.

Is up to the installer to test all wires with a DMM whenever possible.

Thats the problem that I have though. You have to start the car to program it and the car will not even start with the key.

Connect pink or pink/white wire together.  When doing the bypass you cut the pink or pink/ white and run it with the 457g.  Reconnec the factory wires together.  The 457 could of gone bad.

check fuses.  I had  Accord that did not turn on with key.  Checked fuel pump fuse and found it was burnt.  Try that.

Unplug 457G.

Try to start car, but after it fails to start, do NOT turn the key off....simply leave it in the Run position, with the security light flashing.

(If the automatic headlamps come on, switch them off, or connect a battery charger.)

After 10 minutes, the security light should go out, and then you should be able to turn the key off, and re-start the car.

Might want to re-start the car a few more times with the key, just to make sure everything's OK.

Go online, find the install manual for the 457G, and try re-setting to default, and then re-programming all the stuff.

Also, at the 457G's plug, test all the pins for proper function; it's possible that the original installation has a loose or mis-connected wire.
