Hey guys, been trying to locate the rx and tx on a 06 sienna for an hour now.
According to the instructions, it is suppose to be pin 4 and 5 on what looks like a 7 pin connector around the ignition key cylinder area.
Also it does not indicate what the color wire should be. All I can see is a four pin connector where the keysense wire is located.

Anyone know exactly where this tx and rx connector is cause I dont see any 7pin connection there?

have you tried to remote start the vehicle without the bypass? Some toyotas after 2000 still dont use the immobilizer system. Don't know why Toyota doesnt do it to all their new vehicles. When San Diego at Directed we were working on a newer camry that didnt need a bypass.

enrice, this sienna does have a immobilizer system which has a chip within the key head...
Also, I have not finished wiring the alarm completely to the van so I can't confirm if remote start is possbile or not without the bypass in place.

By the way, the fortin bypas I'm using is the new KEY-OVERRIDE-SL2 model which is only made 04-06 sienna years which is distributed by crimestopper.

Hope I can get connected soon and find that 7pin connector for the tx/rx wires...

A good practice is to connect your alarm/remote start first. After installing the system you then leave the key in the cylinder and then remote start. By doing this it should work because the factory immobilizer will see the key and let the car start with bypass installed or not. The last thing you should do is install the bypass. The 7 pin connector should be under the key cylinder. The 7 pin plug is series of small probably 22 ga wires.

Thanks enice. I do agree the remote start will work if the key is in the cylinder. Perhaps I'll take your advice and complete the alarm wring first.
I'll also double check around the key cylinder but am sure I checked every single connector on the steering column and no 7 pin connector.

If you or anyone else know these tx/rx wire colors that would greatly assist in finding the connector.

If it's anything like my 07 camry I'm working on, the color won't help. Basically if you look at the key cylinder, it should have like a clear plastic around it. (it' lights up the key hole or something) anyways follow it and it should attached to a black connector, where you can unhook it from the immobilizer. The reason why the color won't work is because some wires are the same color. Best bet is to look at the connector and see if any wires are missing... i.e. for my car it was

1 Orange
2 Red
3 No Wire
4 Brown
5 Red
6 Brown
7 Purple

Because #3 had no wire and the instruction said 5 & 4 that would be the correct number as oppose to the other way around.

I will definitely double check now since Toyota should use the same parts anyway...

By the way, is yours a type G connector as indicated by Fortin manual?

Just did a 06 Sienna and did an xpress kit platform 5. Not sure about the fortin but the xpress did great. The imi and imo wires are at the ecm behind the glove box the brown and white in pin 26 and the brown and red in pin 27 the security light is at the light in the cluster and is black. Just pull the cluster out only took a minute. They are in the connector just above the empty ecm slot and are close to the bottom of the plug. Go to https://www.xpressdownload.com and use the vehicle wizard and it will show you a diagram of the wire colors. Hopw this helps.

I'm familiar with the kit you mentioned.
I'll see how far I get with this Fortin bypass module since it's only a 6 wire 'tap' connections around the steering column.

Cool. Let us know how it goes. I am curious if there is a different way to do it. Directed shows you using the imi and imo wires though and hooks up just like the xpress kit.

Holy crap!!

I found the 7 pin connector. It was connected to the key cylinder cover hidden from view.

Although the tx/rx wire color are different, looks just like whatz in your pic, dnt408.
