I made all connections (solder+tape) according to install manual and tech sheet from this website, and the alarm works fine, but when I try to remote start, I poop a fuse that powers the satellite bank.  What gives?  Any ideas?

Make suer that you are not grounding out a relay when it is engaged. 86 & 85 can be either (=) or (-) but never the same. If 87/87a & 30 are opposite polarity, this will cause a short in the power wire.

what do you mean by (=) and (-)  do you mean positive or negative but never the same?   and 87/87a &30 should be same polarity?

is there any way to check the satellite bank to see if it was wired correctly from dei?  Can I just pop in new relays in all of the sockets to see if that solves the problem?  and if it does, how do i check a relay for correct functionality?

thanks, again, mike

Make sure that you have your 12volts where 12volts is needed and ground where it is needed on your relays for the remote start. You may have some correct while you have one ground on a 12volt. Just as Jeff said above.

Also double check to make sure you are using the correct ignition wires by testing with a DMM.
