hello i was wondering if you guys could help me out. i have a 98 Chevy s10 and i purchased a clifford matrix 50.5x and i installed it along with the dei 555l... however it will crank but then die. my question is on the 555l, when i installed it to the specs in the installers manual and learned the code it still wont start. On the 3 pin harness that i wired into, there seems to be some kind of an IC or a chip that is attached to all 3 of these wires. Do i need to wire before or after this black IC or chip or does it matter.
Any input would be gladly appreciated thanks, atomicspark

and right after the black plug? in between the 3 pin connector and the black plug or inbetween the black plug and the BCM

WHere you install the 555L is wholelly irrelevant the things to make sure of are :  1.  The pink wire is hooked to ignition .  2. The yellow and BLACK / YELLOW are not reversed.  3. The ground is connected to the passlock ground reference wire for the most accurate learning.   4.  Make sure you have the GWR hooked up to the right wire and that the wire is programmed as a GWR or status output.

Ok heres the deal i have checked all of the wiring to make sure that its correct, the car cranks but dies, the car will start with the key, the theft light is not flashing, and the only thing i can think of is that i cannot learn the tach... could that be it?

why can't you learn tach? you tried setting it to voltage sense for remote start? if no tach is learned and it's programmed for tach, then it will only crank, not start

Ok, so i couldnt get it to start when i had the tach wire hooked up to the alarm... so i hooked it up to the fuel injector control wire that comes out of my ECM. Then it learned the tach and i have remote start. Thanks for all of your help
