Hello
I have just recently started an install of my very first car alarm. I knew the moment I pulled the dash apart that there would be bumps along the way. : D
Well, I have officially reach bump #1 and I have searched for the past two hours with no success and here I am.
----------------------
Alarm: Viper 791XV
Car: 1997 Honda Civic HX Coupe
Problem: Door Lock/Unlock is not working.
On the alarm there are two wires coming off of a three pin harness. The first one is Light Blue, the second pin is not used, and the third one is green.
The Honda Civic has a three-pin negative door locking system. The unlock wire is GREEN/ Orange and the lock wire is GREEN / WHITE. In order to unlock the car, the GREEN/ Orange wire must be grounded; in order to lock the car, the GREEN / WHITE wire must be grounded.
The instructions, forums I have ran across seem to make it simple (I wish it was for) but I have having difficulty.
I have attached the Light blue wire (- unlock output) to the GREEN/ Orange wire at the door switch location and I have attached the Green wire (- lock output) to the door switch location as well.
When I attempt to arm the car nothing happens to the door locks. When I disarm the car nothing happens with door locks.
The only that happens is when I connect the Light blue wire. It unlocks the door. Another thing I noticed is it does not let go of unlocking the door and continuosly pushes it unlocked until I disconnect the wires.
What am I doing wrong? Am I connecting the cables from the alarm in the wrong location? I am lost and I sure would appreciate any help.
Thank you (sorry for the long post)

Nevermind,
I'm a retard : D
I re-read the manual and I was putting the Door Lock harness in the BitWriter port (ha, ha, but let's just hope I didn't fry the brain)
Thank you guys anyway, I'm sure we would have gotten it.
Thanks

Dont worry....its funny that you did that but be careful. What I recommend doing and I've been taught by the best DEI trainers at Directed is to bench prep your alarm. First locate all your wires and verify with dmm. Then start seperating the actual wires that you need and shorten the ones that you dont. After that mount the alarm in an area where its not easily found. Do not put directly under dash. Thats the first place a thief looks for. Take your time and dont panic. Being a good troubleshooter seperates the amateur vs the pro. panicking will only make have headaches. Always know that when theres a will theres a way...Good Luck with the alarm

That is funny, lol. What made it even funnier though was you admitting it, ha ha. Good luck on the rest of the install, bro. -Jose
