I'm installing a Audiovox/Pursuit PRO 9230 alarm and have a question that I can't figure out and hope someone has an idea or experience with any of the equipment.
First the info, the alarm has 3 wires to connect for a 2 step keyless unlock feature.
Green (+ or -) Arm input from door lock motor (DIP selectable)
Red Disarm input # 1 (should be pos)
RED / Black Disarm input # 2 (should be neg to disarm and will remain armed if it goes pos at the same time as # 1)
The alarm requires that input # 1 and # 2 are at opposite polarities to disarm. I think I can connect the RED / black wire to the actual drivers door switch. That way if someone was able to press the unlock switch inside the truck, the alarm would not disarm, but if the keyfob is unlocked then the alarm will disarm.
I've got the wiring colors for my 2002 Dodge Dakota (thanks Jeff) and when I got the alarm they sent a copy of expanded wiring harness info for the 2002 with the alarm diagram. Both wiring colors state that the WHITE/ green wire is used to lock and unlock from the keyfob.
So here is my question, it says that for the lock and unlock I MUST use relays and different resistor values on the WHITE/ green wire, but I'm not clear on how relays would be used. I know that to lock and unlock from the keyfob, they both connect to the same wire, but with different resistor values for each (330 and 820) and a negative trigger. I know that the green wire, from the alarm, needs to be used to arm the system when the lock signal is sent on the GREEN / WHITE wire and the red wire is used to disarm when the unlock signal is sent, but where and how would relays or resistors be used?
*** Single Wire Lock System, A Negative Trigger Through A 820 Ohm Resistor Will Lock Doors. A Negative Trigger Through A 330 Ohm Resistor Will Unlock Doors. **** Single Wire System, A Negative Trigger Through A 644 Ohm Resistor Will Arm And Lock The Doors. A Negative Trigger Through A 1565 Ohm Resistor Will Disarm The Alarm And A Second Pulse (Double) Will Unlock The Doors.
Wire in 2 relays in this confiuration:
relay # 1:
- 86 : Negative lock pulse from Alarm
- 87 & 85 12 volts constant
- 30 : to WHITE/ GREEN wire with a 820 ohm resistor inline
Relay # 2:
- 85 : Negative unlock pulse from Alarm
- 87 & 86 12 volts constant
- 30 : to WHITE/ GREEN wire with a 330 ohm resistor inline
remember that you will have to do the same for the alarm arm/disarm if your truck has factory alarm on it.

Jeff, Thanks again,
maybe I wasn't clear enough, what you have described is if I was installing an aftermarket alarm with it's own keyfobs, when the alarm is armed, it would lock the car (with the relays) through the 820 resistor to the WHITE/ green wire. To unlock it's with a 330 resistor.
I am installing an alarm without any keyfobs, it's designed to use the factory OEM keyless remotes.
SO how does the alarm know when arm and disarm? In other words, I don't think I can use the input lock/unlock wire (WHITE/ green) to send a signal to the arm and disarm (green, red, RED / blk) inputs of the alarm.
I need to know where the unlock pulse from the door and the lock and unlock from the keyfob are to connect them up to the alarm inputs.
I think it would be like this-
Green alarm to lock from keyfob
Red alarm to unlock from keyfob
RED / black alarm to unlock from door (drk blue)
I know the door lock is org/blk and unlock is drk blue. I don't know what colors the keyfob signals are on and can't find them listed anywhere.
Also ,the documentation I got with the alarm refrences Audiovox tech tips #22 and #23, but they didn't come with the alarm and the place I got it from has no further info.
If you are using the OEM keyless entry then you will not need to install any new relays for the door lock/unlock. The alarm uses the signal that transmits the lock / unlock from the OEM remtoe control to activate the arm / disarm of the Audiovox. I don't have any information on the wiring schematics of the Audiovox so I can not help you further on this unless I can get access to the owner's manual.

MR gadget you need to hook the inputs to the motor legs
- Green to 16ga. ORANGE / black at keyless (Arm Input)
- Red to 16ga. Blue at keyless (Disarm input 1)
- RED / Black to 16ga. Pink/black at keyless (disarm input2)
- Its very important to plug inputs in first before applying power to alarm
