i install a TRC RST-880 2way paging alarm/remote start combo on a 2002 Chevy Express Van. everything worked perfectly with tremendous transmitter range. the only problem is after the vehicle is running on remote start the all transmitter communication stops, even if the remote is inches from the antenna. after several hours of troubleshooting i decided to try an ordinary alarm/remote start RST-560. it works perfectly, but the customer wants the 2-way paging piece. any ideas on how to make it work?

All i would say is to swap out for another  rst-880.  It may be a bad unit.  I'm assuming you dont have another.  Its good to keep at least  more then one of every unit.

I have experianced weird remote problems with big cargo vans.  I used to do quite a bit of alarms on a local contractors vans and some of the people would complain that under certain circumstances the remotes wouldn't work.  All alarms were Viper 300ESPs, a fairly reliable unit.  I came to the conclusion that the size and shape of the van had something to do with it.  To this day I'm still not sure why they did it.
