Other than programming of the alarm, what is the valet button used for? Could I just remove this from my alarm by not plugging it in. If I don't need it I won't put it on my alarm. It is just one more thing to hide or one more thing a thief could use to their advantage (using it to trace wire back to brain).
Please let me know... I don't think I'll need this other than setting the alarm during installation.

good point.
I never thought of that; I'm good with batteries in my remote, but what if I dropped it or it broke somehow while the car is armed. That would suck...
Maybe I will hide the valet switch, but I'll make it a pain to get to... I just don't want it to look like I'm breaking into my own car. lol

You NEED the valet switch. As already stated, without it you can not disarm the alarm in the event you lose or break the remote control you are carrying. Install it, it is there for a reason.

You can also use the valet switch to put the alarm in valet mode so it isn't constantly going off when you leave the car at the mechanics. I've fixed several alarm systems that were 'disabled' by shop guys who didn't know the first thing about alarm systems. It turns out that they will do whatever necesarry to kill the alarm system! ------------- Kevin Pierson
