Anyone have hands on with a 98 explorer and a pkf1 bypass. Bypasskit doesn't list it as compatible but the 99 is? the build date was 05/98. I hate to throw a key in the box if I don't have to, thanx.

Carry these and you would not worry about that.  It does many vehicles including the 1998 Ford explorer.  KEY-OVERRIDE-SL and as far as the compatibility I dont have experience with the pkf1 but with the SL the wiring is the same for 1997-2001.  Wouldn't hurt to try but these bypasses are valuble stock.

I was trying to find a bypass that would only require 1 key to program, custy only has 1 key local dealers are pulling down a premium price for the second key.
