anyone done the XL2230 system on the GM remote start equipped vehicles. if so how did it turn out? does work as good as advertised? i just got one in but havent had a chance to install it yet. im referring to the kit from bypasskit.com

Did one an a 2007 Tahoe. Worked awesome! Hook up power, gound and data wire, mount the antenna and youre done. We didnt do a 2-way, only a 1-way but the only difference is the remotes. Customer loves the extra range.

thanks for the info, im waiting to find a customer for my first one. there is a chevy/gmc dealer around where im at i want to go see if i can get them to sale them.

I was looking at the product on the bypass website and if I read correctly then the xl2230 will give added range and be capable of making the factory alarm into a 2 way alarm by connecting just 3 wires and mounting an antenna? If it does what would be the retail price for these. LOL sounds like a lazy install I wouldnt mind doing on these cars.

it works just like you said. but it doesnt add anything to what is already there it just upgrades it to the 2way.

So if the GM vehicle has a factory remote start then the data wire connected to the ODB2 will pick up the signal and remote start with the 2-way remote?

I was confused because when I was at the website it showed other bypass kits connected to the xl2230. Could you explain that part??

The 2230 is just remotes and reciever. You plug it into the appropriate bypass (Xk06 for example), then hook up the power, ground, and data wires on the bypass. Run your antenna and youre done. So you need the XL2230, and the correct bypass module, and thats it.
