Hello all, i have an inquiry regarding the power door lock switch.
Here is the diagram of what i have been trying to connect.

the diodes i am using are 1N4004
the switch i have is 3 pronger middle is ground, the problem i am having is where would i connect the diodes, in the diagram it says the alarm door lock harness.. i have tried that but it did not work ;s should i try where the actuator is ??
Thanks in regards

The switch is just used to trigger the relays. No diodes needed.

I was under the inpression you added door lock actuators and already have it hooked up to an aftermarket keyless entry/alarm system. Is that not the case? Or do you have an EX Civic with factory power locks?

noo
i never had power locks, mine was an civic si. i added the actuators, and i got an alarm.
&
i was just informed that no diodes are needed. Just attach a switch(3prong) to lock/unlock of the alarm. One is ground and the others are lock/unlock
i am going to try it out and see if it works and let you knoww

i just wanted to clarify,
i am going to put a lock/unlock switch on the drivers side, and have nothing on the passenger side. But some people have told me that i am going to need switches on both sides, in order for it to work. i was also told that after i connect the wire from the alarm brain to the switch, i would have to run it to a relay??
im not to sure about it..
if anyone could help it would be appreciated thanks

ahhh
i am encoutering problems on making this switch work
this is my alarm wiring diagram
https://img520.imageshack.us/img520/2906/p1050682oo3.jpg
i am using
Blue: (-) Instant Trigger Zone 1
Green: (-) Door Trigger Zone 3
There is also
Violet: (+) Door Trigger Zone 3
BUT the connection for Violet is not connected to anything ;s
i have a 3 prong switch and my middle is ground(checked using a DMM)
the ground is connected the chassis
is this correct???
OR am i supposed to be using the green & blue wire's coming from the actuator???

You won't need the door trigger wires at all. Does your alarm have built in relays for the lock/unlock circuit? You should have two wires coming off each actuator, which are high current that send 12v+ to move the motors. Do these wires hook directly to the alarm lock/unlock outputs? Or is there a seperate relay pack in between the alarm and the actuators? This will make a big difference on how to connect.

hmm ok
i just checked it out
from the actuators
it goes to an all black unit, which i believe could be the relay
then from there it branches off to the other actuator and the alarm

PROBLEM SOLVED, i got it too work!!!!!
what i did was, if you look at the diagram
https://img520.imageshack.us/img520/2906/p1050682oo3.jpg
I used the, White 3 pin - Door Lock Port - Blue and Green wires
and the ground from the alarm, connected it to my switch and vola it works, now its just a matter of running the wires and im good to go!
Thanks for the help... i appreciate it!
