KEY SENSE Red Ignition harness   +
TACH SIGNAL Black At diagnostic plug   AC
The diagnostic connector is a round plug under the hood on the passenger side with a round black cap. Cut the boot beneath the plug to access wires.

: This car is equipped with a anti-theft system that works with a transponder in the ignition key. See our ALARM diagram.
UNLOCK Blue/red At general module Pin #22   -
This wire may require 2 pulses to unlock all the doors, the first pulse will disarm and unlock the driver's door. For remote start you must send a lock pulse after start to re-lock the door. : This car is equipped with a anti-theft system that works with a transponder in the ignition key. See our ALARM diagram.
DOORPIN RED / blue At general module   +
This wire is theater dimming and may cause a problem with the doorpin inputs of some security products, if this happens you can use a relay to isolate the wire. In some instances the domelight may come on when a remote starter reaches the end of it's cycle causing an after market alarm system to trip unnecessarily. By opening both WHITE/ RED / YELLOW DOTS and VIOLET / YELLOW wires at the general module (middle plug) during remote start using relays. This will keep the domelight off on starter shutdown.
HOODPIN PURPLE / green At general module   -
This wire may require 2 pulses to unlock all the doors, the first pulse will disarm and unlock the driver's door. For remote start you must send a lock pulse after start to re-lock the door.

The General Module is behind the glovebox.  Also check to see if putting your key in the door cylinder and turning right and or left twice pulses the windows.  If they do then the door locks wires may control the window rollup and down functions.  On DEI alarm they are the comfort closure funtions in which they will continue to pulse the lock wire for about 30 secs by which it will roll up the windows.  The hard part is the parking lights because its a small ribbon inside the light switch module in which it must be interrupted to turn the lights on and the ribbon is thin.  Also you would use a clutch bypass.  I have no idea if compustars have comfort closure but if they do then you are in luck and wont need a 530t to control the windows, just your aux channels.

REMOTE START On E46 if car key has lock buttons, must use DEI 556U (set European Cars, discard antenna) with Grey valet key. Also on DEI product don't use foot brake switch, it's low voltage can, pick-up   12v leads (3) in floor looms and diode together AND go to rear light cluster and put diodes in feeds (RED / yellow) to trunk courtesy lights. Trunk lead(WHITE/ brown) is in driver floor loom going to right hand side glovebox (on left hand drive).

Be prepared to buy lots of diodes if you work on BMW's!!
