First, Does anybody know if the Viper 7900 issues and problems have been corrected? If they have, how would I identify the updated version if I was to purchase one?
Second, assuming the Viper 7900 problems have now been corrected, what is everyones thoughts on it versus the AutoPage RS-1000 OLED... I have installed MANY DEI systems and never really had much problem... Also, since I have installed them in the past, I am more familiar with how to set them up and what to watch out for... having never attempted an Autopage alarm, I do not know what I would be getting myself into. How does the quality and features compare?
Looking at the pictures of the AutoPage, the quality doesnt "look" to be on the same level as the Viper one, but pictures arent the best judge.
Last question, anybody have any idea if DEI has plans to come out with an OLED system with the 1-Mile range any time soon? I do not mind waiting if one is in the works, but do not want to put the install on hold indefinitely...
Thanks for any help or feedback.
Daniel
The two are very similar (probably same manufacturer in China). I don't have much experience with Autopage but lots with DEI. This time I vote against the DEI. Although the OLED is sharp to look at, it has limited range most often to disarm/unlock.
DEI pulled the 7900 to save their name but there is an OLED slated for the remote start season. To be seen.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
I installed the Autopage RS-900 and the wiring colors/harness are exactly the same as the RS-1000 with the only exception of the OLED remote transceiver unit. So this mean you can upgrade to the 1000 by just replacing the brain module.
It's a 2 way with 1 mile range with 3 extra channel (-) outputs (configurable) for other accessories.
