One final question I’m hoping someone can answer.  I’ve had Viper alarms for a good 8 years now, and I’ve never had one that continues to
give confirmation chips each time I press the button, meaning, the alarms seems to know what state it's in.  As in:

Once it’s unlocked, it would basically do nothing if I pressed the unlock button again.

Same for the lock function, after the 5 or 10 seconds to miss the progressive arming, hitting the lock button would do nothing.

This Viper 350 just starts over if I hit the lock button again, chirp and I can even go through the progressive arming stages.

After talking with the installer, he mentioned that it is functionally properly and it does this because I have the optional 4 button remotes.  Does this sound right?

sounds about right to me, all mine do the same. you can also disable different sensors by pushing the lock button two or more times after arming the system.
