2006 hyundai reverse sensor

Hi;

I purchased a Reverse Sensor kit while I was in Korea that I would like to install on my American 2006 Sonata. It has 4 sensors that are installed in the rear bumper (Holes must be drilled). I also have the correct drill bit. I am curious as to the best place to drill the bumper because I dont want to drill in the wrong area and end up being 1/2 into a structural support member. I am guessing about 1 inch down from the top of the bumper. Any help on where to drill the holes would be appreciated.

A lot of SUV's come with those sensors today. Go walk around a mall parking lot and look for some new SUV's and you will see 4 circular shaped cutouts in the rear bumper. That should be a good indication of where you want to mount yours. Before you drill anything, make sure there is nothing behind the area you are drilling into.

Ya, most of the bumpers on those imports have a big chunk of a styrophome like material behind them. You might stick your head under the car to see. Make sure when you do the job you get the sensors positioned properly. Theres an up and a down on most of them.
