Car = '99 Accord EX coupe
Compustar 2wss-as
I installed the starter-kill/anti-grind relay (pre-wired) in this Accord, and am having a weird issue:
Unless you use the CS keyfob to DISARM the CS alarm, the car will not remote start. It will attempt to r/s three times and then quit. When I DISARM the car with the CS keyfob, the car remote-starts just fine on the first attempt.
So, next, I selected (in programming) to have the car UNLOCK--START--LOCK in order to bypass the starter kill. No dice. It will unlock, and then unsuccessfully attempt three remote starts.
Do I need to get rid of this starter-kill relay in order to be able to just r/s the car without having to press the DISARM button on the keyfob prior to r/s-ing the car?
Thanks

that what im thinking, is the starter engaging or is the r/s just cycling on than off without cranking the starter?
The car does not crank during the unsuccessful r/s attempt.
Here's the scenario--- I lock/arm the car with the CS keyfob; then, I r/s the car with the CS keyfob -- the car's ignition comes on (noted by the dash lights and sound of the fuel system warming up in the engine bay), but the car DOES NOT CRANK. It attempts three r/s attempts, never able to crank each of the three times.
When I unlock/disarm with the CS keyfob, and THEN r/s with the CS keyfob, the car successfully powers the ignition, cranks and starts like a charm.

Could I have reversed the way I tied in the yellow and yellow-black wires of the starter-kill relay? Meaning, could I have attached the yellow to the keyside of the starter wire (instead of the yellow-black) and yellow-black to the motor-side of the starter wire (instead of yellow, as would be appropriate)?? Would that replicate this problem?

put a meter on the wires and see what side is getting 12 volts on crank. if its the opposite- switch them.
Good tip -- thanks, I'll try that.

my money's on the 12v start wire being installed on the key side. While your ther put a meter on the start wire off of the r/s and see if its putting out 12v.
yellow black goes to key side there buddy. and yellow away from the key cylinder.

"dont ground out!"
..That was it -- flipped the two wires (yellow-black and yellow) and voila ... another successful compuster install.
