Hi, i am in need of some help. I am using the 1700g passlock module in my install. With the passlock programed and the tach, AC on i use the remote to start the car it works fine. When i shut the car off with the remote the Cooling and AC fan stays on and won't shut off. This might be a problem or it might be something else causing it. If i leave the fuse in the 1700g Module it runs the battery dead overnight. Did i use a wrong power wire somewhere? I hope someone has ran into this before.    If i pull the fuse from the 1700g i can still use door locks and stuff and that never runs the battery dead. I must have messed up on the passlock module somewhere.

Specify which wire you connect to what.

it's just a power ground on the unit and a blue wire. The blue wire i was told to just ground.

red = 12 volts positive

black = chassis ground

blue = ground when armed/ground while running (-) (from your alarm brain)

what about the rest of the wires on the 1700g unit?

Since you've connected the blue passlock wire to "ground" --> it's always on and draining the battery.  If you just connect the blue wire to GWR (ground while running), it'll only send power to passlock during a remote start sequence.

Can you tell me where i find a Ground while running wire? As that's what the instructions say. I couldn't find one so i asked on here a while back and was told to just ground it.

Off your viper r/s brain, there is a "status output" wire.  It's a blue wire on a 7-wire harness off the viper brain. Its an 18 or 20 gauge wire (pretty thin wire).  connect this to the BLUE wire on the passlock.

I have done this. I am still getting a dead battery after a couple days. Anyone have any other ideas?

The status wire is correct.
If your battery is still dieing, its something else causing it.

do you have any other module?

Is it the running of the fan thats killing your battery? Or does the fan FINALLY stop, and your battery still goes south?

Do you get any different results NOT using the remote start? Does the fan stay on when you use the keys? (no remote starting)

you nailed it, the fans stay on if the AC was on. If you use the key the AC fans shutoff after 15 seconds.   If you use the remote and no AC it still runs the battery dead but probably from keeping that circut live or something

Sound like you have an accs. or an ign. relay staying energized on the remote starter. I would get your meter out, do a remote start, and shut down, and see what's staying hot on the remote start harness/Ign. harness.

SOMETHING is getting 12v, at a time that it should NOT. and it must be related to the key cylinder.

Try this, leave the A/C on, then...

Use the remote start, get in the car, put the key in and turn to ON, hit the brake, and then shut the car off?

Does the fan still stay on?  Or is this all happening when you do a r/s shutdown w/ the keyfob.

I was thinking that perhaps you'd have to pulse the doorpin (-) trigger with the REARM(-) wire off the r/s brain.

It only does this when used with r/s. How do i go about that last part?

Keep in mind if i take the fuse out of the 1700g i have no problems after that, battery never goes dead and trunk/door locks still work fine.
