does anyone know which wire i need for a 2004 aveo, or if i'd need to wire in a relay for remote start for it? i do have a remote start specifically for manual transmission cars.

Ther is a purple wire at the clutch switch. connect your starter output from the remote start unit to this wire INSTEAD of at the ignition harness.

What kind (brand and model) of remote starter are you installing?
