Im looking to get a reliable and good quality 2 way led security alarm

w/ remote start and other optionals like windows rolling down etc.

I need an affordable buy while not sacrificing quality. Range is an acceptable sacrifice but minimum 3000 ft range.

Must be new so no old models.

Thank you, i have a 2005 tundra crew cab if you need to know that.

How much do you want to spend? Are you installing this yourself?

Compustar 2wss-as (> 1 mile range, all the goodies) ~ $200-300

DEI products (i.e. Viper 5900) same price range, similar features

As far as rolling down windows, etc, both units will allow the accomation of a window roll-down/up unit that can tie into an auxillary button, but they don't necessarily come with it as a feature.

I have a feeling the original poster didn't mean to restrict it to just "LED" 2-way systems. He probably meant to put LCD. Either way....the Viper 771 will not get anywhere close to the 3000 feet he wants.

Compustar 2W900FM would be a good choice. Its rated for 3000 feet. If he could get his hands on the Canadian version of the Compustar Pro 2W900FM system it would be even better....rated for 5000 feet I believe. You can find them on eBay occasionally.

I haven't used DEI in a couple years, but from what I have seen the SST systems from them are getting mostly good reviews. The Viper 791/Python 881 and Clifford 3.5 are good choices as well....good range, but not 3000 feet.

Well it all depends too, if my customer has a manual transmission vehicle then they have no choice but compustar.  I have installed compustar and I must say that their entry level 2-way was horrible.  The hornet(also has many names but same product) worked far better and was rated at 1000ft.  The 791xv is great and I havent really had issues.  The 5900 sst version of viper is amazingly great in range wise and extremely reliable.  Remember an alarm is only as good as the install.  Also remember that just because you get it at an authorized dealer does not mean that they are the best. A clean stealth installs is what you want.  A good thief will immediately disable the alarm if you have a lazy installer who wants to put the brain under the dash(meaning that you can see the brain).  Dont really know the prices for the compustars but 250 sounds really cheap for a SST model assuming your getting in online in which you will get no tech support from Compustar and no warranty either.  Good luck though.

thats too cheap for a pro dude.

But LED is cool too.

Compustar has a LED remote model number 2WSHLED-AS

Super head! Works great. But i would recommend the Pro 900. or the regular 900. word

Pro units are very hard to find online. I have not seen a 9000 Pro for below $300. If you could, PM me where you found that. I have a friend looking for one.

how does the 2wss-as compare with the 900 Pro compustar? (in terms of range and features?)

The Pro unit has a ton more programmable features. The remotes on the 9000 Pro have a much quicker response time. The 2WSS remote is really slow, and the range can vary greatly depending on surroundings. I have only installed one 2WSS system and I was not impressed at all. I have done a bunch of 2W900FM systems (including my own car) and they work well. I have done one Pro 2W9000FM system and it worked the best out of all of them.

You can download a manual for all Compustar systems at www.compustar.org
Just click on "Dealer Support". The Pro Series 9000 use the CM4000, while the 2W900 and 2WSS use the CM3000 brain.

The pro's rock, love them. Lots of programable stuff with op500. Its cool they all share the same brain and are all manual capable, less to stockposted_image. Remotes are easy to use and response time is minimal.
