Today I installed a remote start alarm combo on my 2006 scion tc. Everything works except the remote start (typical)... The dash lights come on, but I get no crank. Im using a Hornet 563T and a bypasskits XK05. The tach learn and the bypasskits key learn seemed to accept. I didnt connect the 2nd start wire. Should I have conected it??? Another thing is that I have not connected the key sense wire yet. I figure I try the start with all the basics connected. I armed with the hornet then disamed the factory then tried to remote start it, but same thing, dash lights on with no crank.

What did I miss???

Thanks

Remember, a remote start system duplicated what the key does when inserted and turned.  If turning the key enables the second started then yes you must connect that wire too.  Make sure you have the right wires connected.  Also connecting a ground while runnig wire which would be the blue/white wire directly to it(if you have that wire connected to the bypass then diode isolate) would disarm the factory alarm.  Connect these wires since they should be easy connects.

Are you one of the few people that actuall have a Tc with an automatic transmission.... WoW.

Connect both starter wires. read the instruction again about your bypass. (the ignition wire part) If you need the keysence (wich I think you do) diode isolate the status output. This is connected to both the bypass as well as the keysence.

The unit "should have" negative outputs for second ign. accs. and starter on one of the harnesses. I am not a DEI guy, so I cannot tell you wich harness.

Wire a relay like so. 87; 12volts constant fuse @ 30amps. 86; 12 volts connected to 87. 85; gets the negative trigger for starter from you remote start. 30; this is for your second starter wire on the car.

Thanks guys... The car started with no problems after I connected those 2 wires. I have one more issue now.... When the car is remote started, I can not unlock the doors with the remote. The unlock only seems to work when the car is not remote started. Does anyone have a solution for this???

Thanks again....

yeah, on that car when the car is running the factory keyless entry(remote built into key) will stop working.  Unfortunately there is no way around this.  You'll have to hook up the door lock wires (blue and green) from the hornets brain to the door lock wire in the Scion.  Then you'll be able to lock and unlock the car using the hornet's remotes regardless if the car is running or not. After making this connection the drivers door will unlock when you press unlock once, then the rest will unlock if you press unlock again a second time. This is just like the factory remote control, you have to press the button a second time within 3 seconds.  The door lock wire colors are:

POWER LOCK GREEN to BLUE (TYPE B) See NOTE *2  IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL, 20-PIN PLUG, PIN 15
POWER UNLOCK PURPLE to PINK (TYPE B) (REQUIRES DOUBLE PULSE) See NOTE *2  IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL, 20-PIN PLUG, PIN 14

NOTE *2 TEST THE LOCK AND UNLOCK WIRES WHILE TURNING THE KEY IN THE DRIVERS DOOR KEY CYLINDER.

Also, you can program the hornet to a double pulse unlock, you will be able to unlock all doors with just one push of the unlock button on the hornet's remote. It's up to you how you want the car to unlock.

Yep thats the way I have it connected. The Hornet remote does not unlock/lock the car when the RS is running. I have also programmed the hornet to output a double pulse and all that works great when the car is off.

Anyone have a solution for this. Its driving me nuts!!!!

Thanks

Ok I figured it out ! ! ! ! I guess this would be some gee wizz info. When I was installing the alarm, I took out the drivers seat for ease.... The locks started working after I put everything together. I just took the car out for a ride and sat inside the car playing with the functions and the locks didnt work. Well I took my seat belt off and they worked again. I dont know whats tied into the system, but with the seat belt on and car running the remote will not open/close doors.

Here is some more gee wiz info... When you remove power from the car or window system, once power is reaplied the windows will not work in auto up/down and the drivers side will not control the pass side. What you have to do is "learn" the window switches again. Run the window full down then full up and hold the switch up for about 2-3 seconds. Do this for both windows and they operate normally again...

Happy 4th..
