I am installing a Hornet model 563T alarm in my 2001 Dodge Intrepid. I downloaded the wiring diagram from here, and it tells me that for the parking lights, to use a 110 ohm resistor to ground. And to flash both headlights, and parking lights, to use a 220 ohm to ground. I got some 220 ohm resistors from radio shack, but there are 2 types. One is a 1/4 watt, and the other is a 1/2 watt. Which one should I use?

And the note for this wiring diagram is confusing me on this topic. Here's exactly what it says:

Headlights/purple & PURPLE / red or *3 /+/ fuse relay box(low only)

The *3 is referring to the note, which tells me that I need to use a 220 ohm resistor to flash the parking lights and the headlights. So which wire of the 2 do I connect the resistor to? And I am guessing that the other end of the resistor goes to ground. Right? And does it matter which way the current goes through the resistor?

Thanks,

Michael

It does not matter which way the resistor goes and it is telling you it will flash the low beams as well as the parking lights. The ground needs to come from you parking light output wire H1/11(white). You need to swap the jumper under the door so it does negative instead of positive. Use the 1/2 watt resistor bigger never hurts.

Also I am showing that the 220 ohm parking light and headlight wire is yellow at the head light switch.

Thanks fkelsey, for getting back to me so quickly. I've been out there hooking up the door locks, and working on getting the trunk to open. No luck so far on the trunk. I'm going to search on here, for help, but if you're online, can you pm me about this?

Thanks,

Michael

Ok, I figured it out by myself. I was using the wrong wire. I needed to hook to the BLACK/ white wire behind the switch. It works now, so I'm off to wire up these lights.
