I have not heard about tear gas, but I have heard that there is a company that has a system that exits a smoke for approx. 5-10 minutes making seeing impossible. After the smoke has cleared, there is no residue or smell from this smoke. If you use tear gas, I think the residue and after scent will still bring tears to your eyes.

I would suggest you do some research before installing the system in your car. what you are considering is called "man-trapping" and in many if not most states is ilegal. there has to be loopholes in the system however. better safe than sorry. "it's for a car show..." always works great as an excuse.

I think the company you refer to is Smoke Defense Jeff...and I have seen it in action, works well...seeing that Beowulf is in Germany, they may allow something like that...you may want to look into the smoke defense system Beowulf and see if you can adapt the tear gas canister into that system somehow...I think that would be the easiest way to attain what you want...

there is also that flame sysytem from south africa used against carjackers. you could hook it up to the siren just be sure to turn off the chirps.... it spews a 10 foot flame up from the bottom of the doors. anyone for crispy bacon???

If you want to go to jail then yeah go ahead and jook it up.....
and "demeanor" is correct in the mantrap idea....
Also think of the possibility of an an auto accident where it is set off while you are in the car. Also you should look into the "laws" because you can be seud by the thief in civil court and believe it or not "he will win" and you could be paying for the rest of your life and your wages could get garnished...
Just food for thaught......

There was a unit called DRAGON FIRE. It did exactly what you wanted it to do. Problem: Car alarm goes off. Smoke comes out of car. Person calls fire department. Fire department smashes out your windows and fills up your car with water while you are in the mall. Dragon Fire came with replaceable cans of smoke. My opinion: Don't go there! Use pain sirens and strobes. Works well!

am I the only person who realizes that this guy IS NOT IN THE UNITED STATES OR CANADA?????

he is in Germany, and the laws abroad differ greatly from the Western laws which we all try to abide...

why is everyone so cynical here? I absolutely hate thieves, and have no respect for them or their person...personally if some jackoff wants to break into my car I feel he deserves alot of pain and suffering...and if my alarm happens to deliver it, thats just 100% better...

you guys should all read alot closer to what is being posted here...pay attention before you jump on some guy for something that is probably totally legit in his country...

Many good responses. Germany or not, legal or not, think long and hard before you spew tear gas (cs) into your car to discourage a would be thief. Unless you have experienced tear gas you are probably unaware that it is more than "gas" that disapates. Tear gas is actually a fine powder that is extremely irritating. It not only makes you "cry" but you snot (worse than any head cold you've ever had), it hurts to open your eyes, it hurts to close your eyes, it burns the nostrils and it burns in the crevices in your skin (ie. your neck and anywhere your clothing touches your skin) and when it "disipates" what it has done is settled. Any stirring will re-gas you. You'd have a major cleaning to do if the system were triggered before you could drive your vehicle. I'd strongly suggest getting gassed or do some research on your own before you gas your own car intentionally. One final tip, if you do get gassed yourself, don't shower in hot water, do a cold one. Hot just reactivates the cs.

I don't care in if your in Germany or anywhere in the world! It still doesn't make a differece "BIG Purds"...Noe one in the world "likes thiefs"
Not only would he have to clean his car >all masked up like he's going into space but if he is going to go to that extreme, why not rig it so that a shotgun blows the would be thief away?!!!! why go just tear gas, hell go all the way.... Just think of the possibilities that a family member or a friend borrows the car or just takes it without permission and that person gets hurt....Is that a chance he willing to take..... Personally I don't think any car is worth a persons life.... And if he is that terrified, just get an alarm with the pager feature then you can get paged when the alarm is set off.......
Just think of it this way,,,, Do really expensive cars like testorosas, lambors, mercedes, bentlys, ferraris, all those cars that are worth more than 100g's have tear gas in them..... NO>>>>>>>>>>>

lol, my $500 Datsun has Stun Guns wired in it, to the gear shift (which has to be moved to gain access to the head unit) and in some other undisclosable places as well...

I dont lend my car to people, so I have no concern with other people getting unnecessarily hurt...possessions arent necessarily worth someone's life, but the lesson they (the thief) learn would be invaluable to them throughout the rest of their life...DONT RIP PEOPLE OFF...I have no ill will toward any stranger or unknown person...until they try to steal from me...I worked hard for my belongings and I WILL keep them...if that happens to be at the expense of some extreme discomfort or pain for somebody else, hey, they shouldnt have tried to rip me off now, should they?

and hey, if I ever find someone sitting twitching in my drivers seat, who knows...my car "must have some electrical demons..." it is afterall over 25 yrs old...

you can stand on your high horse and preach morals to me all day long alarmpro, but I nearly lost my life defending my apartment from a home invasion...I now have an eleven inch scar which runs from my belly button to where my ribs meet, and a six incs scar on the top of my head...I was stabbed in my side, which entered over nine inches into my chest, through my lung, diaphragm, and nicking my heart, and pistol-whipped on the top of my head causing a concussion and 20-some stitches...

I continued to fight after I was stabbed and pistol whipped and the thieves got away, but I retained all of my possessions...including some scars, but they heal...that was 1 yr ago on the 16th of February...

I fought then and I will continue to fight to retain every single last possession I have...I worked hard for it so I am going to keep it...and if someone else thinks they can walk away with my belongings for free, well, I can reccommend a good doctor...

That just goes to prove to me that you don't value your life!!! Is anything in your apartment really worth it? I don't think so, but you put a smaller value on your life than most people... Yes, in the heat of the moment,I probably would have tried to stop them, but if I had the chance to really think about it, I wouldn't. I can always work harder to buy more or even better things. Not even mentioning something called "INSURANCE" What if you had died from your injuries? Was your stereo or vcr worth your life...
Just think of your loved ones. What if you had scared them away but you died right there in your apartment? Do you think your loved ones would rather have your VCR or stereo instead of you live and well, unscard?
Just ask them the hipothetical question? Ask them if they would have done the same thing? Ask them how much they would have missed you if you had passed away that day???
How old are you? You must be young because when I was a teenager, I use to think like that, but once you reach a certain time in your life you realize that possesions are not worth more than the time you have on this earth..Especially if you have kids and you want to grow old and see them grow up and have kids of their own!......
Hey but thats your life, so keep doing what your doing and the best of luck to you.....

well, Im 25...

the thing is alarmpro, the same guys that did it to me did it to several others...I was the first in a string of 6 that was linked to the same two heroin addicts...

now, as far as you saying what you would do, the second guy that had the invasion did just that...he was told to lay face down on his living room floor, and he did...and he died on the way to the hospital...sound smart to you? I know I am glad I fought, especially in retrospect of hearing that...

would I fight again? yes, to my death...but now its different...I have a shotgun and a couple of pistols...next unfriendly face that comes through my door will not be walking out on their own accord...

like I said, it is fine to preach what you would do, becuase that may be right for you...but what is right for you may not be right for me, or for the next guy...keep that in mind when you criticize someone for wanting to protect their things...

what you say is right for you would have probably had my daughter never knowing her father...and that is not whats right for me...or her...
