Hi, i was just wondering if it's possible to use the viper 7900's remote with the viper 5900. Just wondering, would be cool to do that, having the best range but also getting the color remote from the 7900.

Probably not, the 7900 is only capable of a 1/4 mile range while the 5900 has a mile range.

yeah, but is the range given by the remote? or by the brain/antenna? anyway, the 5900's remote control looks just like the 791xv's, that's why i figured a change might come in handy.

no the 5900's remote IS different, the antenna is longer and im sure there are different internal parts because they both get very different part numbers and i know for a fact are NOT interchangeable.

the remote and antenna are different on the 5900 from the 791xv. they use different technology to acheive the longer range, so they're pretty much on completely different frequencies.. you could change the antenna on your 5900 and put the antenna from the 7900 and it would work then.. but you would lose the mile range. i like my mile range more than a fancy remote myself. :)
