I am looking at buying one of these alarms. Compustar - 1WAM-AS 1-Way Alarm / Remote Starter or a viper 800 esv. i realize the 800esv is a little bit old as far as techonlogy is concerned. any advice is greatly appreciated as money is a little sparse!

Lets see....you listed a Compustar that is an alarm/remote start and you listed a Viper that is only an alarm. Thats like asking us if you should buy a Ford F150 or a Mazda Miata. Two totally different things. What is important to you?
