Hi,
After my attempt of installing a Commando Pro-Start 2300 on my '02 Jepp grand cherokee the engine light is on and it is running on 5 cylinders only and won't go over 50MPH.
What I did is unhook all wires I had connected for the RS and JDL-PK data buss interface and is still is not runnig right and the light is still on.
My previous thread has the links to the RS and JDL-PK
link
Any Ideas of what happened?
BTW the JDL-PK never confirmed operation after repeated attempts.
Step #1 number 6 didn't do what the manual said it should.

if you go to autozone they have a code scanner that you can use that will tell you what is the problem.

Ok, went to Autozone and code P0201 "malfuction on fuel injector circuit 1". All wires are ok. Autozone will not clear code so I bought a OBD11 scan toll and cleared it, but it keeps comming back.
The Jeep is at the Chrysler dealer now during the worst snow blizzard NY has seen in 7 years.
I think the commando unit jammed up the injector circuit when I connected the grey tach sense wire to injector #1 uncommon wire.
The reason I connected the tach wire in the first place is because the Jeep would only remote crank for about 1 second.
I will see today what went wrong when Jeep calls me.

Jeep called.
The PCM (Powertrain Control Module)is burnt up.
They will replace it tommarow. I have a friend that had a '00 Caravan that had his PCM go twice on him in a year, so maybe the remote start is a unrelated issue.

4.7L has seperate coil for each cylender use the wire that IS NOT DARK GREEN & ORANGE.
4.0L you can use any tan stripe wire at the coil pack or you can use the wire on the fuel injecter that IS NOT DARK GREEN & ORANGE. wich it looks like you did, not that it will probabily matter much but you can try to go to the coil pack.
------------- Thanks Eric

No,
I was on the uncommon wire on injector #1. The common wires were green.
Maybe the coil pack would have been a better choice, but I don't think the PCM's failure is a result of anything I did.
