What alarm? Suggest DEI product with CAN 1 interface, much easier otherwise you will be in a world of grief!

It will be a black widow 2900 alarm .This vehicle is the most base model with no power options.

You will be buying yourself a LOT of time and trouble, I've been in this game for 30+ years and I wouldn't touch a series 5 platform VW/Audi without a CAN based alarm, remember I speak on a first name basis with the manufacturer's techies; even they are telling me not to touch certain cars without these units. We even get problems with radio fits, MK5 VW has no acc or lighting on the original MOST plug, the ign power lead goes to sleep so you can't take 12v+perm off there or fuse box etc etc

If it's a city golf, then it is no different than any 99.5-2006 MK4 VW product. 2 ways to do it: the first, and easy way, use a bypasskit XK01 to get door triggers, hood, hood and trunk are at the CCM to the left of the steering column. The other option, head into each door, grab the BROWN / white stripe at the courtesy light in the door, diode isolate appropriately.

Not a hard car to do anything in...... at all......

Gus if you pull those door contacts together you have to also diode between each connection and the CCM box 'cause it goes to sleep, when it wakes up it will pulse and trigger the alarm. Better to take output from CCM box  (on ours , RHD its to the right of steering column) to domelight (Silver/white if I remember) and just diode block the trunk feed, BROWN / black.
