i've had this installed in my 97 maxima. it's one of those generic alarms without a specific name. this one was named "red x." i was wondering what this "white" input is for? Is it a "brake input"? if so, what would that do for me? this alarm actually locks the doors in 1 second when it's on ACC but i'd like it to lock after around 5 seconds instead of 1. otherwise, could i use this input so that my doors lock after i press on my brake?

Not 100%, but my 1st thought was input for the park light circuit.  A lot of alarms have a seperate input for this circuit, so it can be easily changed to a + or -.

Besides that idea, look in your car and see if there is a fuse on this wire, and/or if it is hooked to something already.

it's not hooked up to anything, and it doesn't have a fuse.

that may be a postive input to trigger the alarm. arm the system wait a few sec and put 12 volts to it see if alarm goes off. does it have a descripiton for it in the manural for what u can use it for
