Getting ready to install my Clifford Omni-Start in my new '02 F150 Harley. I want to use a secondary function to turn on the seat heaters. I only want the seat heater function when the remote start is activated. I am assuming that when the push button for the seat heater is pressed. It simply activates a timer that runs its cycle. So a momentary pusle of 12v is all I need. Once the timer runs it resets the timer & the OEM switch. Anyone out there with Current Clifford experience on how to confirgure this & what I need to program using the software? Thanks!

The only wire that pulses a current is the GRAY/VIOLET for the AUX channel. I suggest using this instead of trying to tie in a wire that engages the seat heaters only when remote starting because this would suck in the middle of summer when you have your AC on and youget into your nice HOT seats. If you wanted to have them engage for those colder nights you have this option.

This is just an idea,but if you hook up a relay to activate the seats with R.S. you can install a simple toggle swith on the ground out when runnig wire. This could be a summer/winter switch. You could hide it under the dash because you would only have to use it for one season. Like I said just an idea. Brian

Hey Brian, that is a good idea but if he turns off the switch, he can't remote start the truck to cool it off in the summer because the truck has a PATS and the bypass module requires a ground out when running wire to engage it.

Just re-thought out what I just wrote & realized that the toggle switch will work if you have it between the heated seat wire & the point of connection with the ground out when running wire. This will still enable you to have full control over the PATS bypass along with a toggle control over the heated seats.

Thanks guys.. the grey/violet is the "trunk/aux" wire.. I had that part figured out.. LOL... maybe I wasn't clear..  Is the Green armed out active only whil the truck is running? if so then I am good. I want the aux/trunk for another function at rest (no RS). Then while started use for the heaters. So the Heaters would only be on when I choose to activate them. I have no other RS functions (cool/summer days) to worry about.. Basically I am thinking this: green armed out (running) to control the aux relay. then a second relay to do the actual switching of the heater activation relay. Unless you guys can tell em a one relay set up. Thanks

i did it in my durango r/t . mine was a negative thru a resistor because the switch does hi & lo depending on what side you use . mine stay on as long as the ignition is on your may time out . either way i woul go to the high side for quicker warm up you can always turn them down when you get in but you cant make them hot quicker. just a thought.

I'm not 100 % sure about the ARMED wire but the units that I have worked on ( non DEI ) has the armed wire to be (-) while armed. That means this wire is constantly energized until the system is disarmed. Correct me if I'm wrong, the only other operation I can think of for this wire ( without any more information from the installation manual ) is that this wire is a pulsed (-) to re-arm an OEM system depending on the programming.
