well thats for positive door triggers.  You have a green one for negative door triggers.  Depending on your vehicle it would be either the green or violet one that you would use.  For that I ask, what kind of vehicle do you have?

it is a Volkswagen camper van. so these wires aren't used to set the alarm off if the vehicle was broken in to?? sorry if this seems a little bit of a silly question.
thanks

Like I mentioned earlier.....if your vehicle has negative door triggers as in if with a DMM the door goes from 0v open and then 12 v when you close it then you  wouldn't use this wire.  If the vehicle goes from 12v open and 0v closed then yes you would use this wire.  Only way to tell is to either push then pin at the door and test it with a meter or if the actual trigger is the door latch.

you need to find out what wire is the door trigger for your vehicle and what kind of trigger it is. i.e. negative trigger or positive trigger.  then you connect either the green wire from your alarm which is for negative trigger systems or the violet wire which is for positive triggered systems. it is one or the other. if you use the negative trigger, you dont need the positive trigger, vice versa... do a search for a wiring diagram based on the year of your camper van and it will tell you what wires to use for the door trigger and trunk trigger.

Its BROWN / white coming from the door contact switch to the dome light, attention sometimes the switch is ony fitted on driver's side and you will have ti install a passenger side switch. GREEN wire from alarm!
