I have ordered Clifford matrix 50.5x on amazon. After processing the payment, I have noticed that they have two versions at amazon. Please see https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_e/102-5349834-7568943?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=clifford+50.5x&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go
Based on the manufacturer's website, they should be the same. I hope anyone can help me on this. Thanks!

You do realize that Amazon is not the actual seller of those units? They just provide links to 7 different online stores that have prices ranging from $210 to $260. Buy from whoever you feel more comfortable with.

Based on one of the merchant discountjungle. There's no difference. It is just weird, because. The other is costly than the other one.

In a free market society people get to sell stuff for as much as people are willing to pay for it. hopefully you bought the less expensive one.

Honestly that is such a problem with online selling. Only thing i would defend myself if im an authorized with is lifetime warranty(no warranty when not purchased through an authorized dealer) . These people buy in big orders to turn a small profit on each item. Then again just because a shop is an authorized dealer does not mean they know the difference between a resistor and a diode......$210 is a great and im talking a great price for a Clifford alarm/rs. Now, just post your questions on how to install....not upset just that I myself would love to get the lowest price possible as a dealer but thats how the game is . Good Luck and of course if you need help on the install then you know where to post.

This will be my first time installing an alarm system. I need your help please! 1. Will the relay satellite act as a starter kill or do I need to add a relay to kill the starter using the alarm's ground-when-armed output wire. 2. For the relay satellite connection (heavy gauge wires), do I really need to cut the starter wire? I asked this because the wiring says: wire 1 (purple) - (+) starter output to starter (starter side) wire 2 (green) - starter input from ignition (key side) I am kind of hesitant of cutting it, for I am thinking of killing the fuel instead of the starter. 3. Again on the relay satellite connections, wire 3 (red) - (+) high current 12v input wire 6 (red) - (+) (30A) high current 12v input wire 8 (RED / white) - (+) (30A) high current 12v input Do I need to use all of them? or just one and which one? Here is the installation manual: www.directeddealers.com/manuals/ig/clifford/N5301X_05-06post.pdfThanks in advance!!

1. The satellite relay pack does the starter kill. That is why the directions say to cut the starter wire.
2. You don't have to hook up the starter kill. You can just connect the purple wire directly to the starter wire if you don't want the starter kill.
If you want to do fuel cut instead, use the orange ground when armed wire to trigger a relay for the fuel cut.
3. They all need power. They power different circuits of the system.

Okay thanks! So I need to use all the 3 power wires? Can I connect them together and then run the single wire into the thick 12v wire. This way, It won't be easier for thieves to trace the relay satellite and the alarm module.

I've read from another Clifford product Matrix RS1.1 install guide about the 3rd constant 12v, it says "If additional current capacity is needed cut this wire, add a fuse adequate for the circuit to be supplied, and connect to an additional 12V source." So it is optional right, but how will we know if we need to use this third 12V wire. Also, I am not sure if this is applicable to the 50.5x model. I just tried to compare it. Thanks

It needs to see power. There is no doubt about this. You are reading the above statement wrong. It is referring to splitting one of the inputs into 2 seperate inputs for a total of 4 12v inputs instead of 3.
You can conect the two thick red wires, and 1 skinny red wire to the same wire if your car only has 1 constant going to the ignition switch (ex: Honda, Nissan, Subaru, and some others). I would recommend making 3 seperate connections for all 3 wires.

okay. Instead of making 3 separate connections, I think it will be better to cut, shorten and connect the 3 wires to a thicker wire before attaching to the constant 12v? With that, it will be harder for the thieves to trace where the relay satellite / alarm module is.
What do you think?
Thanks!

The installation was a breeze. It took me almost 10 hours, it isn't bad for the first timer right? thanks a lot!
