Hello to everone from Canada.
We just recently purchased a 2001 Dodge Caravan with what we believe to be aftermarket remote starter. It has quite a few electrical problems, not the least of which is the remote doesn't work at all. The 4 button starter is a nu100r with a receiver in the window. The handheld portion does flash but he vehicle portion does nothing. I have done some reading and I know I should be looking for a module possibly under the dash. I gfuess I have 2 options. 1 is to remove it all together and 2 try to repair what I've got. I am very mechanically inclined but I just don't know what to look at first. I have checked 2 fuses in the engine compartment that look like they didn't belong and they were fine.
Any help would be appreciated. Please make it quick. I made the wifey buy this sucker nand I'm starting to look bad.

Basically, if you don't have much experience, leave it alone. Don't go hunting for the module, and if you think it may be causing your other problems with the vehicle, have a certified mechanic evaluate the problem.
It doesn't seem like there is a quick fix for your problem.

The search function is your friend.
I would remove the starter and return the vehicle wiring to stock take down the dash plate, this will expose the steering colomn wires. from there trace the rs connections back to the module (probally to the left of steering column)cut all conections at the conection point not the module, if there are any factory wires that are cut reconnect and solder them. tape all wires that u cut with 3m electrical tape. (use 3m there is a difference) good luck!!!
