Today, I installed the Viper 791Xv in my 1996 Toyota Corolla. But, there are a few problems. The actuators controlling all four doors are ran to the 451M, but never lock or unlock doors (if i place leads on a 12V battery, they work fine). Also, whenever a button is pushed on the transponder key, it beeps about 6 times, and a antenna-like picture flashes. Lastly, the un-arm button does not work. The dash lights come one as if its about to start, but nothing.

Any suggestions? Solutions? Thanks.

The antenna picture flashing is usually a sign that the brain of the alarm did not receive the signal you sent. If the brain is not receiving the signals, the alarm would obviously not lock/unlock, arm/disarm, or remote start.

This is usually caused when either do not have the antenna connected properly, or the transmitter is not programmed to the alarm.

Good luck with it.

Im not sure about your communication problems if its arming and disarming (the alarm chirps and what not) when you hit the button just the remote is not getting a page back to confirm its command, which is a common DEI problem.   Id start by replacing the transceiver on the windshield its the likely culprit.  Now for your door locks if they are not working IM guessing its probably a wiring problem.   on the 451m the purple wire should be powered up you should have upgraded the fuse to a 30a fuse if you are driving 4 actuators, the white and brown wires should be grounded and the blue and green should be hooked to the wires from the actuators, if you have it wired any other way, you have it wired incorrectly.

On the 791XV's DEI Dual Stage Shock Sensor, which end goes into what? The manual was pretty vague. There is an end with the green looped back into the harness, the other has it free. Which goes into the brain and into the sensor? And why (curious)?

Thanks a lot in advance

the install manual explains it.
Looped side goes to shock sensor
(since DEI no longer has a separate wire for warn & full trigger, since it is all measured by the length of ground the trigger wire receives)
So, when the shock sensor sends off its warn away or full trigger, it is all picked up on that blue wire.

The loose green wire is your SENSOR 2 on your LCD remote.

Er wait a minute, Corollas in Uk always had factory locks, triggers cwere low current negs, usually picked up at factory relay or driver door kick panel, thus why a 451?

My thought here would be the same. Why the 451 when the lock wires are a neg trigger? these wires are fond in the pass kick panel lock is blue/black and unlock is blue/red or GREEN / WHITE with factory alarm. if you are using after market Actuators make sure they are geting a good signal on both wires and check your ground. also sounds like the transmiter is programed wrong.

got it all figured out, thanks. yea, it had manual locks, and i put actuators in. the antenna did have a weird problem though. went to exchange it, but tried it on my friends accords' 791xv and it worked. plugged it in mine and it was fine. reprogrammed the remote where unlock actually unlocked.

first though, i replaced the 451M. it was fried because my neighbor wanted to see the locks work. so i took a drill battery to the lock/unlock wires while still connected to the 451M and the 9.6V fried the unlock of the 451M, everything is just fine now, thanks
