Does anybody know of a voltage sensor that will send a negative or positive pulse when the voltage drops below a set point, say 11 volts. I'd like to add a sensor on one of my friend's remote starts that I installed. When the battery voltage drops below 11 volts, it will activate the remote start and charget the battery back up. I've seen this available on some omega add on remote start units, but I've been unable to find the voltage sensor itself. Any input is appreciated.

That's an interesting challenge---I've never seen the Omega device you speak of.
I think DEI made a piece that would start the car up at a certain time every day. I may be wrong, but it may also start the car when the temperature drops to a certain point---I know that's not just what you're asking for, but it may get the job done.
Also, don't forget that many remote starters can be set up to start the engine up every two or four hours. When your friend is particularly worried his battery might go dead, he could turn this feature on.

The omega add on remote start I mentioned is the RS-4LX. I haven't been able to find any kind of sensor or trigger anywhere to do what I want. I thought about maybe using a voltage sensor with a low battery light from an old junk car, provided the light will be enough to energize a relay. But I'm not sure if I want to go that route, seems very aggravating. Anyway, I guess I'll keep looking.

If the battery went to 11 volts under an almost no load condition (LED, and car computer power consumption only) would the car even start? Just wondering.

No it will not start. We had a guy in here with a car with a battery between 10.5 - 11 volts and the car wouldn't start.
