Hey, I am attempting this alarm install tomorrow and have a stupid question about hooking up the lock/unlock blue and green wires.
The alarm I have is a: Viper 5900
The Vehicle its going in is a 2007 Tacoma Access cab V6 4.0 Liter
Power Lock is (-) Purple Wire
Power Unlock is (-) GREEN/ Black Wire (Double Pulse)
Lock Motor is 5wi
Unlock Motor is 5wi
How do I wire the Green (-)lock (+)Unlock & Blue (+)Unlock (-)Lock wires to this vehicle? What does the (Double Pulse) mean?
Thanks!
The blue wire (of the Viper) will be connected to your Toyota GREEN/ BLACK wire --> and you need to go into the Viper menu and select DOUBLE-PULSE for unlock (keep reading in the viper manual to see how to do this)
The green wire (of the Viper) will be connected to your Toyota Purple wire.
You do NOT need to utilize the Toyota lock motor wires (blue/red, blue/black).
I agree that the Viper directions are VERY confusing on this issue for this particular model.
Double-pulse (to answer your question) means that the green viper wire will send two quick negative pulses to the toyota unlock wire -- this is required to unlock the toyota doorlocks (and most toyota's and nissan's) b/c it disarms the factory alarm with the first pulse and then unlocks the doors with the second pulse. Even if you do not have a factory alarm, you STILL need double negative unlock pulses.

Just an observation, peterubers you confused yourself lol. The blue wire is unlock. You mentioned earlier that the blue is unlock and in your last statement you said the green wire gives a double pulse output to the unlock wire. Must of been a typo. Again, green wire is lock and blue is unlock.
touche -- don't you agree the schematic is misleading -- is it a typo in the schematic? ( I should have said green is lock, blue is unlock -- agreed)
