viper 560xv remote start

My husband and I just purchase a 1999 Chrysler Town & Country that came equipped with an after market viper 560xv. We brought it home on Friday evening 8/10 and when we tried to start it on Saturday 8/11 using the remote start the van would attempt to start and fail over and over. My husband got in the van and turned on the ignition to attempt start it and it stopped engaging the starter altogether. Now, when we attempt to use the remote start, the van lights/locks behave as if it is remote starting but the starter does not engage AND we cannot engage the starter with the key. Also, something strange, the dash readings indicating mileage and trip length to not light up when the key is used in the ignition. I have downloaded the owners manual and installation guide (mostly over my head). My question is how can we disable the system so that we can start the van and take it back to the dealer or to a viper installer for repair?

We would rather not have to convince the dealer to tow it, but we will try tomorrow morning when they open.

My guess is 1) Tach or 2) no/improper bypass
1) if its tach, start the car with the key and hold the valet switch
The LED should light up indicating Tach has been learned. Then turn off your car and try to remote start.
(only thing stopping the car from starting the car with the key is the starter kill, this is disabled by pressing UNLOCK)
2) leave your key in (leave it in the OFF position), then press * twice to remote start
If it remote start, then you are probably missing a bypass

If you are still unable to start the car even if the alarm is disarmed,
remove the fuse to the alarm or remove the ground.
This should disable the alarm completely allowing you to drive it instead of towing it.

If you are unfamiliar with most of the words ive used, i suggest calling someone with knowledge to do these things.

I tried both suggestion 1 and suggestion 2 but the starter will not engage. The arm/disarm appears to be functioning correctly lock/unlocks and alerts, but something is preventing the ignition from functioning.

My husband will try to remove the fuse or ground tomorrow morning.

It seems like your disarm works so the alarm is functioning properly.

I think there is a loose connection at your ignition harness.
Specifically your starter kill. (i dont think the relay pack is messed up),
probably the Green or the Purple wire off the XCRS
look for the    STARTER WIRE       YELLOW (+) at the      IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

Make sure the Purple wire is going to the engine/firewall side of the car, while the Green wire is going to the keycylinder.

Note: the installer cut the Yellow starter wire of the car in half and connected the Purple and Green wire of the XCRS to the respective side of the yellow wire.

Once you fix the loose connection, try step 1 and 2 inorder to get your remote start to work.
