Hello I am new to this site, I was just wondering is a bypass required for a 2005 honda civic for the key part of the installation? What bypass kits are good with dei alarms such as viper, python, hornet etc. Also on a manual how do you bypass the clutch pedal?

DEI makes great alarm/RS units but theyre not made to work on MT cars. Your other option is compustar.

To bypass the clutch temporarily, apply a low current negative trigger, such as status, to light-green wire at the switch.

You actually can use a DEI alarm/rs unit.  You would need the 689m kit from DEI that is made for manual transmission vehicles.

It only says "2001-2004" but I believed nothing changed from 2001-2005 on the Honda Civics.

To answer your question profuse007, it just started to ship out from DEI to be used in the states.  I should get some in the very near future.  Till then i still do not install DEI systems into manual transmission vehicles.   By the way, the 556HW does work.......

Heh compustar all the way for manuals.

Firstech has been manual transmission vehicles since 1999. i think i'll stick with them. I saw that new peice that DEI is offering. If someone installs that i would like to know how that went. Word

Thanks everyone for the help. So I started my installation on my 2005 Honda civic (5spd) and I got the keyless part to work and everyting but I couldn't get the remote start part to work. I tried holding down the clutch with my foot and leaving the key in the ignition(without turning it) and tried starting it but it seems it only sent a signal with no attempt to starting the vehicle. My alarm is a "Autocommand 20095" from DEI. I am pretty sure I connected everthing correctly as I followed a website with a DIY write up. https://www.home.earthlink.net/~profuse007/id3.html This person did a write up on a 2001-2004 civic. But it was probably automatic. I need help getting remote start manually before attempting the Bypass. To clear things up I basically want to try the remote start with the key before adding the bypass module (556HW). By the way the clutch has 2 harnesses plugged into it and about 2-3 wires on each harness. How could I bypass that?

I think they will lock this thread now since you just mentioned that you have a manual vehicle and are using a DEI system that is not manual transmission safe.  Wait for the module and then you can get help.
