I have a 1994 Honda Accord and wish to install a security system.  Which brand of alarm do you reccommend?  I'm looking at an alpine (SEC-150R) from cartoys.com  I'm looking for one with  expansion/many features (adding extra sensors) One with motion detection would be good.

after installing way too many different brands of alarms, i would recommend running with one from the directed electronics family (viper, clifford, rattler, etc).  their integration is great, reliability is lifetime, expansion is limited only by what you want to spend.  i've installed them so that the remote can turn on headlights, neons, do windows, remote start, the obvious doorlocks, trunk release, and still have room to add on.  the alpine's are alright, but unless you are looking at something to integrate into their audio systems (such as their higher end models), you get a better alarm for the price with the dei.

I always used Alpine, but this tiome I went with a rattler 300.  Only because it was cheaper.  I wish I never changed the Rattler remote never worked 1 week after buying it.  I was told it was water damage (moisture) but the alarm was never used.  I had Alpine alarms in all my other cars and have never had a prob!!!!!!
