I installed the Hornet 727T in my 2007 Jeep Wrangler that has the factory keyless entry and security system. I was unable to get the 727T to "learn" the door lock / unlock polarities, so I removed the 727T and set it up on the test bench. I discovered that I could complete the "learn" sequence only if I pulsed the lock (arm) and unlock (disarm) wires with +12v for at least 1 - 2 seconds. The lock / unlock pulses generated by the Jeep are much less than one second. The 727T did not respond to any +12v pulses of less than one second on the test bench.

Does the 727T require a longer lock / unlock pulse to function or am I doing something wrong?

The door locks go through one wire...it is the violet/light green wire in the kick panel  A ground through a 330ohm resistor will unlock the door.  A ground through a 100ohm resistor through that same wire will lock the doors.  What you need to do is either get a 451m and plug it into the door lock harness on the alarm and use those or use relays to do this setup.

That may explain why I am having the problem. I used the Tan/white wire (which reads a +12v pulse during lock) and the Tan/light green wire (which reads a +12v pulse during unlock) The violet/light green wire reads 5v and according to the service manual is the driver door lock switch MUX. What exactly is the purpose of this wire and how does it work.

It seems like the violet / light green MUX wire is used to manually lock and unlock all the doors.

Enice, I think you misunderstood my problem. The Hornet 727T is an alarm upgrade to a factory OEM keyless system. Its function is not to lock / unlock doors (although it does have this capability). Instead, the factory keyless system is supposed to arm and disarm the 727T. Apparently, the Lock / Unlock +12v pulses on the tan / white and tan / light green wires in the kick panel are not long enough in duration (300ms) to arm and disarm the 727T. I can complete the arm and disarm learn sequence on the test bench by applying a 1 - 2 second pulse to the appropriate 727T wires. The alarm works normally only when the duration of the lock / unlock pulses are long enough. I could use two DEI 528T pulse timer modules to extend the 300ms pulses to 2 seconds but I would like to keep the system as simple as possible.

First, I would not recommend the tan/light green wire.  If you use that wire, by simple pushing the unlock button on your driver door switch it will dsarm the alarm.  Use the yellow/black wire as the disarm wire and connect to the wire that receives a pulse when you press the unlock button(flashing lights) . It may well be the parking lights if that is what gets the current.  Dont worry as this wire can receive positive or negative triggers.  As for your lock wire the tan/white wire should be fine.

I contacted DEI today. They told me to tap the lock / unlock voltages directly at the lock motor. I did that with the same result. The service manual states that a 300ms pulse is normal. However, the Hornet 727T will not arm or disarm with such a short pulse. It looks like I will have to use the DEI 528T modules after all. I hope that they will activate with a 300ms pulse.

I added two DEI 528Ts to the Hornet 727T in order to extend the 2007 Jeep Wrangler Lock / Unlock pulse from 300ms to about 2 seconds. The system works as designed except for the short delay between Jeep lock / unlock and Hornet arm / disarm.

I emailed DEI about the problem and suggested they redesign the 727T to respond to shorter trigger pulses. No response from them.
