installing a ProStart 3300 in a  2001 Evolution7 lancer, remote start works but every 5sec the starter will engage and it grinds badly. will connecting the tach wire fix it? can anyone tell me the location/color of the tach wire for an Evo7? Thanx.

Yes, if you connect the tach wire, the remote start module will know the engine is running.  Armed with this information it will not continue trying to start.

Thats correct. The tac wire must be installed properly. That wire will sense when the engine has started by sensing a change in RPM's once started. Then tells the remote start to to stop.

have had no success. found the white plugs behind clock but only light green w/silver dots there are4 all identical - no green w/silver dots . are these the wires you reffer to? we used a multimeter on ac volts but it did not fluctuate. do i have any other option for a tach wire?

You can use either -ve of fuel injector, or -ve off of a coil.  Sorry, I don't have wire colours, but you did say you had a meter that would read AC so it sounds like you should be okay.

Hers what Astro has. grn/wht @ the PCM, OR  blk/lt.grn, or blk/yell. @ the coils, or the pcm.

Seems to be ALOT of choices here..... somthins gota work?
